Dattatreya's Song of the Avadhut, 1.36-42:~ Non-duality is taught by some; some others teach duality. They don't understand that the all-pervading Reality is beyond both duality and non-duality.
The self-styled Gurus talk of the ripeness and effort of destiny and grace; all these are playing with the emotions and sentiments of the seekers.
Do not stick to any Gurus and their teachings, but stick to the truth. Advaitic wisdom is not any type of teaching. No guru is required to acquire it.
Advaitic wisdom is a treasure hidden by Sage Sankara 1200 years ago. Every seeker is qualified for the treasure if he is serious and sincere in his quest for truth.
Do not get stuck with Gurus and teachers who preach Advaita; their propagated wisdom is only skin deep, inadequate and useless to unfold the Advaitic treasure of Sage Sankara.
Remember, Sage Sankara is the final authority in Advaita. There is no Advaitic wisdom without Sage Sankara.
Unless you forget all your accumulated knowledge of different gurus, you will never be able to find the reassure hidden by the great sage.
If you are following any Guru or his teaching, however holy or sacred, it will become a great obstacle to the realization of truth.
Remember:~
You do not require grace of the physical Guru. You and your physical guru belong to the dualistic illusion, therefore, the grace of the physical Guru is bound to be an illusion.
Glorifying and worshiping physical Guru as God keeps you in the domain of ignorance because the physical Guru belongs to the dualistic illusion.
The Guru is useless so long as the ultimate truth is unknown, and the Guru is equally useless when the ultimate truth or Brahman has already been known.
A Guru is needed in religious and the yogic path. There is no need of a Guru in to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing them for the sake of bread and belong to the religion; they have nothing to do with the Self-knowledge, Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
There is no need to criticize and condemn the gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of the ignorant mass in the dualistic world.
Sage Sankara himself said: ~ A Gnani "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (Stanza 539).
Thus, it proves that the religious gurus and yogis are not Gnanis because they identified themselves as holy people.
A person who realizes the ultimate truth, or Brahman, will throw off his religious robe and all religious identity and live like a commoner. He never identifies himself as Gnani nor does he identify himself as superior to others. He only shares his knowledge with fellow seekers.
A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru, a Yogi, or a Yogi or some Guru's disciple.
The one who accepts himself as a Guru or someone’s disciple is not a Gnani.
Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him and only those like him understand his state.:
A Gnani can point at the sky, but seeing the star is the seeker’s own work.
The truth seeker seeks only truth. The inner Sage will guide you with love. Your sincerity and seriousness lead you to your inner core. Sincere and serious seekers are not excluded.
Katha Upanishads: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone, whom It chooses. To such a one, Atman reveals Its own form. (II -23-P-20)
Millions are searching for the truth, but one in a million will realize it. If you are the truth seeker, then you are one from that million.:~Santthosh Kumaar
