You are not the ultimate reality because the ‘Self is not you but the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness.
You and the world in which you exist is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
Holding you as the ultimate truth is an error. You are the birth entity, you are bound by death. The Self is birthless and deathless because it is ever formless, timeless and spaceless existence.
All the Advaitic teachings holding the ‘Self’ as you will make you imagine and hallucinate.
“Advaita” refers to Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman. The seeker seeks release from ignorance by acquiring Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Realizing Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of the consciousness is one without the Second is Advaita.
All is consciousness. The whole universe is consciousness. From consciousness, the universe comes. When the universe disappears, consciousness still remains without the form, time and space in the midst of the form, time and space bringing unity in diversity.
Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the Self. Many people quote Advaita without understanding it really in its highest aspect.
People are unaware of the fact that all the Advaitic teaching available so far in India or the west is based on the dualistic perspective. Whatever based on the dualistic perspective are based on imagination. All these teaching are mixed up with orthodoxy leads to hallucination.
Sage Goudpada quotes from the Upanishads: ~ “There's no plurality here”. "The Lord [Atman] through its powers appears to be many"; "those who are attached to the creation or production or origination go to utter darkness"; "the unborn is never reborn, for who can produce Atman?”
All these experiences as a father, son, Guru, and pupil in the world in which they all exist were one and the same consciousness appearing differently. All these distinctions disappear when one realizes Self is not ‘I’ but the Soul. The Soul is the cause of this world in which we exist, and it itself is uncaused.
Perfect understanding and realization of ‘what is what’ leads to Self-awareness. By holding on to theories, one remains in the realm of duality.
One has to mentally go on dropping what is not truth through deeper Self-search. Finally, when one becomes aware of the fact that, his ego, his body, and the world are one in essence then there is Self-awareness in the midst of duality. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
